Is this ever coming out?Everyone
Ivan's Secrets is a PC game built on the CryENGINE 3 set for release in the near future. It is a hybrid of the shooter, RPG, survival and horror genre mixed into one.
After a supervolcano eruption causes the downfall of civilization, you have to do anything to survive.
Take to combat, killing anything in your path and taking by force? Live off the land and play the explorer, selling the loot to the few communities remaining? Investigate the remnants of the military facilities, now abandoned and in ruin?
The choice is yours.
There are no goofy perks, no wisdom or dexterity. Most progression and character customization is made by your time spent using it or the loot you discovered. Being unfamiliar with shooting won't stop you from using that assault rifle, but you won't be too great with it. That being said there is a fairly realistic skill progression tree alowing you to specialize in certain situations (looting, exploring, computing)
The world has been picked clean.Scavenging and looting is the only way to stay alive. Loot can be used to craft essential items otherwise unobtainable. Ammunition is a valuable commodity and it'd be wise to count your bullets carefully. Travelling without many items will let you stay agile but unprepared for a difficult situaton.
There is no HUD.To check the time you must look at your watch; to check your ammo you must look inside the magazine; to check your inventory you must look inside your bag; to check your position a map and compass need to be used.
Tired of how easy shooting mechanics are these days?Weapons are represented in a realistic manner; Recoil can be harsh and your gun is no longer fixed to the center of the screen. Learning to control your recoil and learn the kick direction is an acquired skill.
Going deep into that cavern may be worth it.The world is littered with hostile chemicals and environmental hazards, but with that comes unaccessed areas. There is rare loot at the end of dangerous areas which can offer some serious reward for the risk, as well as notes and parts of the narrative to help put together the story of the world.
There will be risky decisions.
If you die you will lose all your inventory and respawn at your deployed campsite. This can make going into dangerous situations a serious decision and being prepared is essential. Do you keep your equipment at the camp where it's safe, or take it with you to stay equipped for the journey ahead?
